Resolutions

Ok, I’m usually not big on making New Years resolutions. You know how everyone makes such ambitious and partly unrealistic resolutions like exercising everyday to lose 50 pounds, stop eating fast food and to drink less. But my resolutions are pretty simple and I have faith in myself to stick to them all. (so no, I won’t forget about them by February) Plus it helps to post it here for the whole world to see. Anyways, my New Years Resolutions for 2012 are:

  • Lose weight - shouldn’t be a problem because it’s all baby weight
  • Exercise regularly with the kids – want to set a good example for the girls
  • Eat healthier – hey I’m no vegan, I need bacon in my life, just want to set a good example
  • Get in the best shape of my life – I am in the prime of my life
  • Become more organized – I have my moments where things can pile up
  • Spend more wisely - I started today by going to Wal-Mart without even checking out the Christmas clearance isle!
  • Finish what I start (or plan to start) – perfect example is my many projects that have yet to be completed
  • Halt all procrastination – I work well under pressure, but why stress myself

I think it’s all attainable and very worthwhile, but………….. in the meanwhile I have some birthday cake I need to tend to! (Hey it’s already here!)

Happy New Year and see ya in 2012!

Thirty three years ago……

the heavens parted and  the love of my life, the ying to my yang, my tag team partner (against the world and the KIDS :) ) Antonio was born. It was a good day. So today I’m wishing him a Happy Birthday. Happy 33rd Birthday!  And here’s to the next 33.

Merry Christmas!

May your Christmas be like Santa Claus – fat, jolly and generous.

Ice Skating?

This weekend we went ice skating! Yeah I know what you’re thinking……………… :) It was a family Christmas present from my younger brother. So we loaded up in the truck and dropped off Baby J.

My Mom, Monkey, Antonio and Turtle D

We started off a little shaky. And I’m just talking about putting the skates on and walking around. But then we realized that if we made sure the skates were fastened tight they were pretty easy to walk around in. The Little One was the first one up and running.

Looks pretty good right?

And here is she on the ice……..ummm……………………it didn’t go that well :)

Here’s a few pics .

Here’s Turtle D, and no she didn’t fall, she was just posing  on the cold hard ice. *wink eye*

And since I was lightening on ice  I don’t have any pictures of myself. :( But I can tell you that I was the only one that didn’t fall! (ok, ok neither did Antonio or Jemelle or so they say)

We only stayed for about an hour, which was just enough time for our first time on the ice.  It was fun to try something new with the entire family, but I don’t think it’s my thing (even though I didn’t fall).  :) Still it was lots of fun.

Thanks Jemelle.

Happy Birthday! (kind of)

Well not  a real birthday, but Baby J is 3 months today! Doesn’t she look big?! And she actually looks like a little baby now!

To celebrate here’s a list of all the amazing things she can do.

  • roll over to her back
  • fall asleep at the mere mention of a car
  • smile
  • smell up the room
  • patiently pose for picture after picture
  • program the DVR  ok, not yet :)
  • chew on her fist
  • do the “Typewriter” with her Daddy’s help
  • replace our alarm clock
  • make cute baby sounds

These past 3 months have flown by. And we’ve loved every minute of it.

I think I’ve mentioned before that we love the holiday season in this house. And we’ve found some pretty fun things to do to stay occupied until the big day. Here’s a list of things that we love to do, and a few that seem like fun that we’ll try out this year.

  1. decorate Christmas tree(s)
  2. film a family cooking show
  3. make homemade ornaments
  4. take family holiday photos
  5. decorate the house
  6. make a new holiday recipe
  7. go to holiday theme park
  8. make homemade cookies
  9. donate a toy for Toys for Tots
  10. make Christmas crafts and projects
  11. go to a Christmas parade
  12. make smores
  13. take the little ones to take pictures with Santa Clause
  14. go driving to look for Christmas lights
  15. watch Christmas movies (my favorite is “How the Grinch stole Christmas”)
  16. send a Christmas care package to a soldier overseas
  17. pray for snow
  18. make a snow family
  19. have snowball fight

ummmm. Ok, I was trying to make a list of 30 things to do, but I ran out of steam  after taking a couple of breaks due to the Little Ones, but I’m sure if you included everything you do with your kids during the month like revise their Christmas wishlists (several times), and go to the Christmas program at their school you’ll have way more than 30! Either way, make sure that you take the time to slow down to enjoy this holiday season.

Hello…………

Posted on

Hello world. I’m back.I know, it’s been a while. Over the past week (or two) I’ve been busy planning and doing all sorts of projects. However……. they haven’t all panned out. Last weekend I was 0-3 against the creative forces.  Oh well.

We had a great Thanksgiving here, and hope yours was as well.

This weekend we spent some time with family in Middle Ga. and we had a good time and got to see the newest member of the family, Baby Kam. And she is adorable, and looks likes her Mom and big sister. (After seeing her if we didn’t already have a baby that wakes up at 4AM I would have been thinking that I wanted one just like her) Of course we did what only comes naturally whenever there’s cute babies involved and propped up them together and snapped a few pics. And they were perfect. Here’s a few.

Ok, I know this picture is blurry, but Baby J is smiling! Come on! Squint!!!Baby J and her little cousin :) Baby Kam.

Aren’t they cute?

And while everyone made a fuss over the babies the Little One followed her big cousin around. (she’s found a new hero :) )
